Last October we had the great fortune to meet with Archbishop Warda (second right in the picture).
This is a man with real ambition and vision for his people in this world, not just the next. In our conversation we explored how he wants to put education at the heart of his work in Ankawa and beyond.
The Archbishop believes that through implementing a broader education with critical thinking more engrained in the curriculum he can help overcome many of the prejudices and persecutions in the region. We agree with him.
The only issue is - it does not exist yet! So he is fixing that. The Archbishop has implemented the International Baccalaureate at his Mar Qadagh school, which we visited in October. Now we are stepping in to help! This July we will return to Ankawa to run a teacher training programme with the teachers at Mar Qadagh. We will let you know more as it develops!
