It is with great pleasure that we are able to announce that The Revd. Marcus Walker, has agreed to join our board as a trustee of the foundation.
Fr. Marcus is Associate Director of the Anglican Centre in Rome, the Anglican Communion's permanent presence in Rome which works "to promote Christian unity in a divided world".
Fr. Marcus has been a strong supporter of our work since it started in the summer of 2014. He was instrumental in our winter campaigns, and helping us begin to understand the power of social media. In thanks for his hard work, and to ensure we can continue to rely on his generosity of time and spirit, we are pleased he has accepted to make his support more permanent with us.
It is a central part of the Foundation to undertake our work with all Christian denominations, ensuring we keep awarness of the tragedies unfolding in the Middle East in people's minds, and to encourage support to our brothers and sisters in Christ from the Church Universal. As a result we are very please to be able to welcome to our board Fr. Marcus, who works daily on the relations and understanding between the Anglican and Catholic Churches.
Marcus has a great enthusiasm for the Church in the East, being a scholar on the Byzantine Church, as well as having grown up in the Middle East. His work with christians in the international community has also helped spread our story and connect us with generous people who have helped us to deliver relief to those in need
His energy and drive certainly keep the trustees on our toes, not least in trying to build our online and social media work. Marcus will be an invaluble asset to the Foundation as we take our work forward into our second year.
We are also pleased that Simon Cawte, has agreed to join us as a trustee. For a short biography on both our new trustees please visit the trustee page.
