Supporting the refugees and internally displaced people has become routine, which means we forget to update the post, as nothing new is happening - we are continuing to help the best ways we can. This fact is in itself a worry, as institutional support and a longer term solution is needed. In the interim we try to help where we can.
This last week we have once again provided assistance to the Baptist community here in Ankawa to supply food to a group of refugees taking shelter in an abandoned warehouse on the edge of Ankawa. This group of international expats and locals is an inspiration as well as being highly organised, and great fun to spend time with.
The Ankawa Foundation will continue to try to support this weekly endeavor with the funds we are receiving kindly from ongoing donors.
